Certification overview
Certifit supports businesses with both regional and international sustainability certifications. Together we select the right label and guide you in a structured way through to successful completion.
Regional certifications
Sustainability Label South Tyrol – Level 1

General information
The business is at the beginning of its sustainability journey. It is aware of the importance of the topic, assesses its current status (status quo) within a guided process, and defines basic measures to make operations more sustainable.
The process is independently reviewed. Businesses with 10 or more employees also create a greenhouse gas inventory for Scopes 1 and 2.
Our assessment
This certification usually involves no major administrative burden.
No structural or infrastructure changes are required. Level 1 is ideal as an entry point into sustainability.
Time required
-
Active support & implementation: approx. 1–2 months
-
Total duration to completion: approx. 2–3 months (including audit waiting time)
Sustainability Label South Tyrol – Level 2

General information
Building on Level 1, the business deepens its sustainability efforts across multiple fields of action.
The business defines an action plan, implements concrete sustainability goals, and has the process independently reviewed.
All Level 2 businesses submit a greenhouse gas inventory for Scopes 1 and 2 and implement defined mandatory measures.
Our assessment
The administrative effort remains manageable but increases due to the additional action plan and the mandatory greenhouse gas analysis.
No structural or infrastructure interventions are required here either. Level 2 is a meaningful next step for businesses that want to actively embed sustainability.
Time required
-
Active support & implementation: approx. 2–3 months
-
Total duration to completion: approx. 3–4 months
International certification
GSTC (foundation for South Tyrol Level 3)

Note
To achieve the Sustainability Label South Tyrol Level 3, an international certification is required.
Certifit is trained in GSTC certification and supports businesses throughout the full implementation process. After successfully completing GSTC, the South Tyrol Label Level 3 can be applied for.
General information
Sustainability covers all relevant areas of the business.
A clear sustainability strategy, a comprehensive action plan, and a system for ongoing monitoring of improvements are required.
All fields of action are assessed by an external certification body. The business creates a greenhouse gas inventory for Scopes 1–3.
Our assessment
Due to international GSTC guidelines, an action catalogue of more than 100 criteria must be addressed.
This results in a significantly higher administrative effort and increased complexity — which we manage in a structured and efficient way based on our experience.
In this category, specific operational or structural measures may also be required, e.g., low-emission water nozzles, or optimized energy and resource processes.
Time required
-
Active support & implementation: approx. 3–6 months
-
Total duration to completion: approx. 6–12 months (including audit and waiting times)
